The foundation members of the F. W. Huston Medical Clinic in Winchester are gearing up for the organization’s 19th annual fundraiser April 15.
The event, a drive-thru pork chop meal, will take place in the parking lot of the Senior Assisted Living Center, 509 Delaware St., Winchester.
A $30 meal ticket buys a smoked pork chop, cheesy potato casserole, green beans, and a dessert-Texas sheet cake or a lemon bar.
Tickets for the meal can be purchased at the F.W. Huston Pharmacy located at 509 Delaware Street, Oskaloosa, or from any foundation or board member.
In addition to the meal, the Medical Clinic is also holding a raffle from now until April 15.
Prizes for the raffle include a Stihl BGA 57 battery operated leaf blower donated by Tarwater Farm and Home Supply, Topeka; Beautiful by Drew Barrymore stand mixer donated by the F.W. Huston Foundation; Handmade quilt made by JoAnn Sedlak and Jody Robertson; $100 McLouth Kiwanis fireworks gift certificate donated by the McLouth Kiwanis; $100 Amazon gift card donated by Baretta Schmeissner; and a $250 Kelly Chess Photography gift certificate donated by Kelly Chess.
Four cash prizes of $250 each have also been secured. The cash prizes were donated by Rep. Ron Ellis(rural Meriden); Self Storage of McLouth; Taylor Insurance and Assured Title, Oskaloosa; and Barnett Family Funeral Home, Oskaloosa.
The quilt is a 2021 Block of the Month quilt block party by the Prairie Point Quilt Shops. The theme is Grandma’s Recipe Box. The “Ice Box Cookies” features a Christmas theme with a modern/vintage look of reds, greens, and off-whites and is approximately 66.25" by 80.5".
The quilt was pieced together by Jo Ann Sedlak, Winchester. The long arm quilting was done in the Holly Panto design. It was completed by Jody Robertson of Aunt Sadie’s Quilt Shop, Winchester.
Raffle tickets are $5 each or five for $20 and can also be purchased at F.W. Huston Pharmacy in Oskaloosa or from any foundation or board member.
Current foundation members are Tammy Gigstad, Tammy Noll, Mary Ann Noll, Bernadine Domann, Beverly Domann, Doug Walbridge, and Beretta Schmeissner.
Board members include Ron Ellis, Doug Walbridge, Mary Ann Noll, Tammy Gigstad, Jay O’Neill, Mike Schwinn, Andy Conser, and Dave Taylor.
The drawing will be held the evening of April 15 at the conclusion of the fund-raising meal. Tickets may be purchased up until that time. First winner gets first pick of the prizes, moving down the line until all prizes are spoken for.
